  • In Montana, patients have access to a diverse range of medical marijuana products:

    • Flower: The classic form of cannabis, consisting of the plant's dried buds, used for smoking or vaporization.

    • Concentrates: High-potency extracts from the cannabis plant, available in forms like oil, wax, and shatter.

    • Edible Products: Foods infused with cannabis, such as gummies, brownies, cookies, or chocolates, offer an alternative to inhalation. Edibles have a delayed onset but longer-lasting effects.

    • Tincture Extracts: Liquid extracts of cannabis, usually administered sublingually (under the tongue), offering a smokeless option with precise dosing.

    • Topical Applications: Cannabis-infused creams, oils, and balms can be applied to the skin for localized relief from pain, inflammation, and soreness.

    • Capsules: Digestible capsules containing cannabis oil or dried cannabis, providing a smokeless consumption method.

    • Transdermal Patches: Patches are adhered to the skin to steadily release cannabis into the bloodstream, offering consistent and extended relief.

    • Vaporization: Devices heat cannabis flowers or concentrates to a point where cannabinoids and terpenes turn into vapor, avoiding the harmful byproducts of smoking.

The availability of these products may vary by dispensary. Consult with your physician to determine the most suitable product and dosage for your medication

  • Montana patients and caregivers must renew their medical marijuana cards annually

  • While Montana has its own medical marijuana program, some states do recognize out-of-state medical cards. However, it's important to note that each state has its own set of qualifying conditions and regulations around medical and recreational cannabis. In certain states, you might need to apply for a local medical card to purchase medical cannabis from a dispensary. Always check the specific medical marijuana laws of the state you're visiting.
